Alan has over 30 years experience on working at the coal face of compliance assurance in waste management, having worked for regulator, industry and local government. He currently provides specialist services including regulatory compliance support securing planning permission and permits, appearing as expert witness at appeals and providing ongoing advice on reducing compliance exposure through established compliance consultancy Beyond Waste.
He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institution of Wastes Management, a Chartered Environmentalist and active long-standing member of the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association Waste Working Party. He is also an IEMA qualified Environmental Auditor by academic achievement.
Waste Horror Stories & How To Avoid Them
Alan will share some hints and tips on developing programmes to assure ongoing waste compliance, based on his extensive experience working for waste producers such as The John Lewis Partnership and helping waste management operators stay compliant by gaining workable planning permissions and permits.
He will introduce some practical tools including a compliance support tool under development for assuring ongoing compliance with the waste Duty of Care. This will be available to demonstrate at the Beyond Waste stand next door to The Waste Crime Theatre.
