The role of biodegradable and compostable materials in reducing waste
Compostable packaging can play a significant role in avoiding packaging waste by producing materials that can be composted with food. The imperative to separately collect food waste in England as in the devolved nations, becomes therefore not just a question of meeting carbon budgets through renewable energy production, but also higher recycling targets and achieving
waste reduction targets.
